Hi! there is a difference between valuation and insurance when dealing with your moving company. Valuation is the kind your moving company provides, free of charge but usually bears no resemblance to the actual cost of the items you are shipping. This is included in the bill of lading.

Insurance is what you buy from your home insurance broker and sometimes, directly from your moving company. this is something you pay and you should not underestimate your stuff. just make sure you are adequately covered when the need arises.

This is indeed very true! I have had a terrible experience with my previous movers and it was a hassle that I really didnt need at that point in time. When your moving and you got all the most important stuff on your head you dont wanna have to deal with new things that werent expected before. That why when you have to deal with moving companies you absolutely must check the field very well and check which are good and which are better.
