I had a bad experience moving in the past but recently i purchased a new home and needed to move again here comes the nightmare. But after searching for a good moving solution i found a company by the name of Packing Service Inc or http://www.packingserviceinc.com they sent a rep to my home he gave me a quote and that weekend was ready to help me pack and get ready for my move. They also gave me a site i could go on about moving scams at http://www.movingscam.info very very helpful the information on the site saved me a lot of money and time. We filed a claim with Mariam and also received no response. We are considering legal action. I did my research based upon a friends refferal who had used City Movers LLC in San Francisco. First I checked with the Cal Public Utilitys Commission to see if there license and insurance was up to date. Then since my move was so large I had an onsite estimate, it gave me a better feel for the moving company before I used them. I had everything in writing, and was assured that all of there movers receive training on proper moving lifts and packing precedures. I chose to purchase the most comprehesive insurance package from City Movers, but it was not needed! I hope this helps, find movers like City Moves LLC that have a good reputation, do your homework and go the extra mile, and your move will be as smooth as mine! These companies have been around forever and do not scam their costumers. Check out www.Hall-lane.com. This company has been around for 50+ Year and is a United agent. They are a local NY mover.
